To dream no more
His hand caught hers just as she lifted the door handle and leaned out into the strong wind and driving rain that forced her to hold onto the door a little tighter to keep it from flying open into the dying light and soaking the side of her dress. Even for late fall in the mountains of Oregon, this storm came on as a surprise and was hitting the truck hard. Feeling his hand grasp hers for the first time was so much more in reality than she had imagined it would be in her dreams where she had lived to feel his touch. Her nerves became alive and hope began to flicker deep within as she tensed and momentarily froze for fear of him letting go. Gently his fingers began to caress her hand, the rain disappeared, forgotten in the spell of what may come as she turned to look into his eyes in the dim interior light of the truck.
